The video includes Rodriguez stating that when he was 13; he got an autograph from 1979 NL MVP Keith Hernandez. The 30-second interaction with his childhood hero greatly inspired Rodriguez. This incident pushed him to pursue a career with the MLB. A-Rod mentions how small moments like these can last a lifetime and leave a ‘ripple effect’, as he is keen on doing the same with the next generation.
