“I’ve Always Been a Fan of Her” – Despite Their Bitter Feud, Jennifer Lopez Couldn’t Resist Mariah Carey’s Hit Single Inspired by Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez are renowned among MLB fans, not only for their exploits on the ballpark but also for their long-standing feud. However, there is another rivalry that’s been going on for more than two decades. That feud is between the ex-girlfriends of the two former New York Yankees stars; Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. Over the years, both singers have talked about each other on multiple occasions. In 2018, the Hustlers actress once again spoke about her alleged feud with Carey. 

While on the show with Andy Cohen, she played “Plead The Fifth“. There, she kept her differences aside and talked about how big of a fan she is of Carey. Not only that, but she also mentioned one of her favorite songs that belong to none other than Carey.

The feud between Lopez and Carey has been going on for decades now. But when Jennifer Lopez was asked about her relationship with Carey by Cohen, she kept all the differences aside that she possibly had.

Talking about not knowing much about her, Lopez said that they have never really met. She also added that she’s always been a fan of hers. “I’ve always been a fan of her. My All is one of my favorite songs of all time, so it saddens me to hear something that’s negative because I’m a fan of hers.”

‘My All’ was one of the songs that ‘Songbird Supreme’ Mariah Carey had written after getting inspired by Derek Jeter. Notably, the song was a great hit. Many people loved it. And so did Carey’s rival, Lopez. 

What had started the feud between Lopez and Carey?

The feud between the two iconic singers had started pretty early. It commenced when they both had just entered Hollywood and were still growing in their careers. In one of the infamous interviews of Carey, she was asked to give her opinions on the female singers in the industry.

The early 2000s interview was the one where it all began. After Carey talked about how good of a singer Beyonce is, she was asked to talk about Lopez. The next words that came out of her mouth were that she didn’t know who that was. And the rest is history.
