A day after the FOX broadcast showed Chisholm yawning on defense, he settled the ongoing drama. He had a monster home run in the Yankees’ win over the Blue Jays during Game 3 on Tuesday evening. And now, he is here with a perfectly reasonable explanation for the yawn.

Since fans were upset to see the infielder’s gesture during a potential elimination game, Chisholm clapped back at them and said, “I yawn all day long! day and night so say what you want.”

The brief feeling of sleepiness did not prevent him from having a good game, though.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. had his first home run of the postseason and had heroic contributions in the Yankees’ 9-6 win. But the fire might have grown because moments before his yawn clip made it to social media, the Blue Jays had scored on an RBI bloop single by Daulton Varsho. And a sliding Cody Bellinger was unable to catch that in left field.

Davis Schneider scored from second base after center fielder Trent Grisham threw the ball to Chisholm instead of throwing to home plate.

Schneider held up at third before scurrying home, which Chisholm didn’t initially see. And by the time he turned around and threw home, it was too late.

“I wasn’t frustrated with it. If Belli catches that, that’s a double play. So in any way, I would say the runner got a little bit lucky in that type of play, because Bellinger normally makes that play a lot.” Jazz explained after the game.

Meanwhile, even Aaron Judge praised Chisholm postgame. “Jazz, he was having good at-bats all game.” The Judge himself had crushed a three-run homer off the left-field foul pole to tie the score, 6-6, in the fourth inning.

And then, it was Chisholm who broke the tie with a solo home run in the fifth.

Despite having an otherwise good game, Chisholm was harmlessly trolled for something super silly.

Chisholm’s crazy theory behind the Yankees’ win in Game 3

On Tuesday night, as the Yankees were ready in the field for the fourth inning to begin, two fans ran on the field and were tackled by security guards. Neither fan made it very far, but it certainly gave the home crowd something to laugh about.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. believes it was that instance that changed the game for the Yankees.

“You know why we won? You know what inspired us?” Chisholm asked.

To answer Chisholm’s question, a New Jersey Advanced Media member mentioned, Judge?”

“Yeah and those fans who streaked onto the field.” Although Chisholm finds a way to bring the entertainment, he wasn’t joking this time.

The Yankees’ second baseman enjoyed watching the fans streak the field. “I love it when that happens!” he added.

With a smile, he also stated that he might have to go pay their fines and tell them to do the same thing for Wednesday’s game. “I think they changed the whole momentum.”

“I heard fans cheering, then I looked behind me and one of them was right there.” Yankees left fielder Cody Bellinger reacted to the fans who ran to the field.

The Yankees’ win on Tuesday night, whether due to fans streaking or not, meant the Yankees had a good game, which forced a Game 4 in Yankee Stadium on Wednesday. But now, at the bottom of the 7th, they are training behind the Jays 4-1. So, maybe another fan interception can save their postseason hopes!
