Jazz Chisholm Jr. made a comeback this season after missing most of last year through injury. He was all set to play a full healthy season and make an impact for the Marlins. But unfortunately, during the team’s latest game, the MLB The Show cover athlete suffered a toe injury. Chisholm Jr. crashed into the outfield wall on a play and suffered a turf toe. Talkin’ Baseball shared that the outfielder will spend some time on the injured list via Twitter. Fans had mixed reactions to the news.

In a Tweet, Talkin’ Baseball said, “Jazz will spend some time on the IL”. In a graphic, they also mentioned that turf toe was the diagnosis of his injury. Sources have said that Chisholm Jr. may spend between 4-6 weeks on the injured list, a massive setback.

But this injury is a massive setback for a player that has worked hard to make an impact. After coming back from his back injury, Chisholm Jr. immediately switched to playing the outfield in order to help his team. Furthermore, he has strived to have an impact this season. This seems to have helped as the Marlins are looking competitive. But that could all change with this injury news

The Marlins may struggle without Chisholm Jr.
Although Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been slightly inconsistent to start the season, he will be missed while injured. Both his home runs and base running give the Marlins’ offense potent weapons. Without his batting, the team will have a void to fill in the lineup. Furthermore, the Miami-based team has a shortage of players at centerfield, and with Chisholm Jr. out, they will struggle to replace him.
