Months before breaking up with ex-fiance Alex Rodriguez, the pop icon Jennifer Lopez witnessed one of the most significant moments of her career. Alongside the Queen of Latin Music, Shakira, Jennifer performed at Super Bowl LIV’s halftime show. One of the most important events of 2020, the Super Bowl, also marked Jennifer’s daughter Emme’s first halftime show performance. However, despite her then-fiance Alex cheering on from the sidelines, JLo could not help but face disappointments before her iconic performance. 

One such disappointment eventually caused the Hollywood star to keep an eye out for her daughter. 

Jennifer Lopez was genuinely scared for her daughter!

During the entire four years of their relationship, A-Rod and JLo appeared in countless interviews individually and together. In one such occurrence, Jennifer also became one of the seven people to appear in her ex-fiance, Alex Rodriguez’s podcast with Big Cat. While in the conversation, among many other things, the mother of two talked about how she had to be on the lookout for her then-11-year-old daughter at Super Bowl LIV.

While talking about the disappointment before the performance, Jennifer said that she and Emme got to have only two rehearsals. She said, “For some reason, the grass wouldn’t allow it (third rehearsal) because our stage was too heavy. On the night, I remember she walked out with me. And all I was doing was monitoring. Like is she cool, is she okay, is she gonna be alright, is she gonna freeze, is she gonna freak out?” Soon after, the entire scene turned upside down.

Although it was the time of her performance, as well, the mother in her could not help but be protective of her child. And in the end, it was JLo who was left stunned by her daughter’s confidence. She continued, “And once we got to the edge of the stage, and I saw her so happy, she was so at ease. I was so proud.” 

How was Alex with Jennifer’s kids?

Aside from being the most talked about couple in the entertainment industry, JLo and Alex always prioritized their kids. Together, all of them had become a beautiful blended family that was adored by many. Hence, Alex treated JLo’s kids as his own, and Jennifer did the same with A-Rod’s daughters.

The blended family was close enough to each other that the ex-celeb couple’s breakup had left a profound impact on their kids. Now, it’s been over two years since the two of them officially broke up. And all of them have long moved on in their lives.
