“Houston Astros Are 2023 WS Champs”- 2022 World Series Winners Win Fans Over With Their New General Manager

This MLB off-season has been a rollercoaster ride, with a number of stars joining new teams. The Houston Astros have quietly had an efficient off-season bringing in players where needed. Although they lost their ace pitcher Justin Verlander to the NY Mets, their bullpen looks good with Framber Valdez likely to lead. Furthermore, they have lost very few players this off-season.
The Astros will look to defend their World Series title this year and continue to dominate for years to come. In their latest move, the 2022 MLB World Series champs have signed a new General Manager to help them achieve that goal.

Although Brown is a first-time General Manager, fans have high expectations for him. But it will be difficult to win this year with Justin Verlander signing for the Mets. But fans are hoping that Brown can be a long-term appointment and provide stability. The Astros have been without a GM since about a week after winning the 2022 World Series. Their previous GM James Click was fired less than a week after helping the Astros win the 2022 World Series.
Why did James Click get fired by the Astros?
The Astros let go of James Click less than a week after they won the 2022 World Series. This happened because Click was unhappy with the new contract that he was offered, among other problems. This led to the Astros announcing that they would not renew Click’s contract.

According to ESPN’s Alden Gonzales, “The issues, however, seemed to be more driven up top, exemplified by Click receiving only a one-year offer after a title”. Most World Series-winning GMs would have been offered a multi-year contract and a big raise. But Click was offered neither. Luckily, the Astros seemed to have found a capable replacement for him.
