A former Houston Astros star playing in the Dominican Winter League got expelled at a game on Sunday. Each player in every single sport enters the field with hopes of winning. And there is always a lot of passion involved in a player’s quest for victory. So, when the proceedings in a game go beyond expectations, matters can go awry.
Jose Siri is an outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB. He is presently playing for the Gigantes Del Cibao in the Dominican Winter League. The Gigantes were facing off against the Águilas Cibaeñas. And Siri got expelled by the chief umpire after getting into a dispute.

Jose Siri is an MLB player born in Sabana Grande de Boya in the Dominican Republic. His professional baseball career began by playing in the minor leagues in his native land. He finally entered the MLB frame with the Astros. The MLB, having reached off-season, Siri is thus now participating in the Dominican Winter League.
Therefore, Siri is recently trending on social media, albeit for the wrong reasons. He was a member of the starting lineup for the Gigantes in Sunday’s game. Playing against the Cibaenas, the incident took place while Siri was at bat. The home plate umpire made a call against Siri, that he thought was unfair.

Consequently, Siri charged at the umpire in a fit of rage, throwing his bat and helmet away. His teammates made their best efforts to calm him down and control the situation. But matters went out of hand, as a furious Siri continued with his display of dissent at the umpire’s decision. As an angry Siri continued shouting and complaining, the chief umpire eventually had no choice but to expel him.

MLB insider Hector Gomez posted the news on his Twitter account in Spanish. The text translated into English read, “Here is the moment in which the chief umpire expels Jose Siri from the game.” The Aguilas won the game by defeating the Gigantes on a 4-3 margin.
The MLB career of Jose Siri to date
Siri made his MLB debut for the Astros in 2021. Following on, he joined the Rays in 2022. Siri has smashed a career total of 11 home runs until now, averaging 0.225.
