The Houston Astros could finally be catching a break. With their season starting on a bad note (they currently sit with a record of 6-13), the Astronauts need a rocket to take them to the stratosphere. Justin Verlander could be that man, especially because he could finally be making his season debut soon. However, it seems Verlander isn’t the only one in his family who is about to take a massive step. Famous actress and Verlander’s wife Kate Upton too has something up her sleeves.

Upton and Verlander have been one of baseball’s It-couples for a long time. How would they not be? Rarely does Hollywood meet Baseball but when it does sparks end up flying. Now while her husband is slowly getting back to the mound, Upton’s new movie has just dropped on digital.

Paramount Movies and Kate Upton’s Instagram accounts recently posted the trailer for their new movie “Sweet Dreams.” More than a trailer it was an announcement post about the movie being available on digital. Starring Kate Upton, Johnny Knoxville, Mo Amer, and Bobby Lee – the video immediately won the hearts of fans. The post was filled with comments saying that the movie “deserves a theater release.”

It’s a weird coincidence that both Upton and Verlander are about to have something major come up professionally at the same time. While The movie looks quite fun, Verlander’s return to the mound is also expected to be equally good. With the Astros currently struggling, the return of 3x Cy Young winner could prove to be immense.

However, there’s still one hurdle that Verlander needs to cross. While his return is imminent, the dates still aren’t decided. If reports are to be believed it could be as soon as this weekend.

Could Justin Verlander return over the weekend?

Per ESPN, the Astros’ skipper Joe Espada announced on Monday that Verlander could be making his debut this upcoming weekend. However, Espada noted that Verlander will first throw a side session on Tuesday, and only after everything goes well will he return to the mound. While that could be a test, most experts expect Verlander to start one of the three games against the Washington Nationals this weekend.

However, Espada didn’t specify which game Verlander will be starting on the weekend. “He’s in a good spot, he feels good. He feels confident,” Espada said about Verlander. “He wants to contribute, he knows that we need him on the mound, we need his presence.” Espada’s words indicate just how desperately the Houston Astros want their ace back.

Well, it seems Verlander’s fans have a great weekend ahead of them. They can watch the superstar make his 2024 debut and then follow that up with Kate Upton’s latest movie. Sounds like a win-win.
