When news of a trade or a new signing breaks out especially when it concerns veteran players, the baseball world wakes up from its reverie and eagerly erupts in murmurs about how the addition would affect their beloved team’s lineup and whether the new player is a good fit. But what about the players themselves? What is it like for them to transition to a new place, with new coaches, teammates, and surroundings?

The period of transition for players when they join a new team is often overlooked in news coverage. It involves adapting to a completely new environment, which can be both exciting and daunting. His first game as a Met was nothing short of immaculate. He delivered a performance that left onlookers in awe.

When asked about the experience of wearing a new uniform, Verlander nonchalantly revealed that he doesn’t typically glance down while playing. Nevertheless, he did get a quick peek, and a twinge of excitement bubbled inside of him at the thought of this fresh start. “I did glance down like on my way out, just kinda like you know that this is pretty cool. It’s been a couple times in my career I’ve changed uniforms”
