Astros pitcher Justin Verlander and model Kate Upton are adored by many as a couple. Having played most of his career with the Detroit Tigers, Justin got traded to the Houston Astros in 2017. It was also the year when the Astros brought their first World Series trophy home in the history of their franchise. 

The couple had set the date of their wedding and events surrounding it in the same year as well. But they planned it before Verlander got traded to the Astros. Apparently, they didn’t think that their Verlander would get traded and that even if he did, the team wouldn’t play the World Series till game 7. 

The dream was to win the World Series, his and his team’s first-ever Championship ring. But winning the World Series, turned out to be a huge hindrance to his wedding with Kate Upton in Italy.

What did Justin Verlander say about the twist that caused him to miss his own wedding?

The wedding was planned, guests reached the venue, everything was set up and the only thing missing was the couple that was supposed to get married. There was nothing that could have stopped them from being there at the venue, Game 7 of the World Series 2017 was an exception. Because for World Series games to stretch to the final game is very unlikely.

Upton said, “Everybody’s in Italy. Everyone’s at the venue. We had an event that night, and everyone’s texting us like “your wedding is so pretty! Wish you were here!”” Then Verlander added, “We got taken around our wedding via FaceTime.”

The couple then did get married in Italy after a couple of days of the World Series. Five years ago, the Houston Astros lifted the World Series trophy for the first time, and now, they lifted it for the second time. 

Verlander gets pushed around by his wife!

Model Kate Upton is known for her fitness fanatics and is always challenging herself to push for more. She was doing the same when she pushed her husband on a three-wheeled sled up the steep slope in their neighborhood.
