New York Mets pitcher Kodai Senga missed his start scheduled for Saturday, with discomfort. Fans hoped that it was not a serious injury and that their new acquisition would be ready for opening day. It will be interesting to see how the Mets’ pitchers recover as Opening Day draws closer. But there has also been some clarity on why Senga actually suffered this tendinitis.

Senga’s tendinitis may have been caused by the size of MLB’s baseball

New York Mets pitcher Kodai Senga is suffering from tendinitis in his index finger. Mets management has stated that it may have been caused by the size of the baseballs used in MLB. For those unversed, the NPB and MLB use differently-sized balls and this may have been what caused Senga’s tendinitis. He has only played in NPB. Senga has not gotten used to gripping MLB-sized balls yet.
