Battling cancer is a tough and long road, with millions fighting against it every day. One of those millions is Chicago White Sox pitcher Liam Hendriks. He revealed that he was undergoing treatment to fight Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in January this year. Following that, Hendricks visited the White Sox clubhouse during Spring Training and supported his teammates.

He has battled his cancer with nothing but bravery, something that will boost the White Sox for ahead of their big season ahead. Most recently, a positive update on his condition was revealed, leading baseball fans to cheer for the pitcher.

The Chicago White Sox hope for a June return for pitcher Liam Hendriks

Chicago White Sox pitcher Liam Hendriks has been battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma since January. He has been upbeat and energetic throughout his treatment, even showing up in Spring Training to offer support. He has made good progress in his recovery and shared updates on social media. Most recently, Talkin’ Baseball shared a huge update hinting at a possible return to baseball in June for the pitcher. On Twitter, they mentioned that Hendriks is making good progress and that the White Sox hope for a June return.

In a Tweet, Talkin’ Baseball said, “Liam Hendriks is making encouraging progress in his battle with cancer, per @BNightengale”. They further added that the “White Sox are hopeful he can return before June”. This is a big relief for Hendriks’ supporters as his recovery appears to be progressing well.

Furthermore, in 2021, he even took home the AL Rivera Reliever Award for the AL’s best relief pitcher. Hendriks is a key part of the White Sox’s bullpen and one of MLB’s best closing pitchers.
