LA Angels Rookie and Shohei Ohtani’s Teammate Celebrates His First Home Run With Those Who Caught Him!

Any baseball player dreams of reaching the Major League and smashing their first home run. Similarly, Livan Soto has sauntered the little leagues since 2016. His professional baseball career started with the Atlanta Braves in 2016. Eventually, he moved to the LA Angels minor system in 2018.

By 2021, he advanced to the Single-A and Double-A levels, appearing with the Tri-City Dust Devil and Rocket City Trash Pandas. Finally, after a fantastic little league start in 2022, and leading the league in BA, he got his maiden call-up to the Major Leagues.

Livan Soto immediately started to win hearts

Notably, Livan Soto debuted with the Los Angeles Angels on September 17th, 2022 against the Seattle Mariners. After going scoreless in game one, he got another opportunity in game two of the season.

During the seventh innings of the game, Soto hit the lefty pitcher Marco Gonzales for a massive homer above right field. With the shot, a smile erupted on the newbie’s face and emotions of joy surrounded Angel Stadium.

After the game concluded, the baseman went out of his way and met with the people who caught his first MLB homer. The moment was indeed, very wholesome and heartwarming.

As the Angels take on the Mariners for the fourth series game tonight, they are leading the series 3-0 and looking forward to clean-up the Mariners. Will the Angels be able to gather a boost towards the end of the season and trigger a brand new 2023?

LA Angels in 2022

Despite the presence of star powers like Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, as a joint force since 2018, and Trout alone since 2011, the Angels haven’t even made it past the regular season rounds since 2015. Given their poor regular season run, the World Series are multiple unrealistic dreams away.

Similarly, even 2022 proved to be a continuation of their poor form. While Ohtani and Trout have hit multiple homers and Ohtani is actively fighting Aaron Judge in the MVP race, the Angels are struggling in the bottom half of the points table.

All in all, the fact is that the Los Angeles Angels need to regroup. They need to consider bringing about changes in their management, and a better pick of players.
