Alex Rodriguez knows how to keep his secret. Even while playing for the New York Yankees, A-Rod used to tip the Yankees batboy to not reveal his secrets; especially when it involved girls.

It is no secret that A-Rod has a long list of women he has dated before and after getting married. And if reports are true, then the former Yankee also had affairs while being married to his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.

Dating back to the early 2000s, when A-Rod had just arrived in the Bronx, he would tip the Yankees batboy every week to keep his mouth shut. Going down memory lane, the then-Yankees batboy, Luis Castillo, spilled the beans on how he protected A-Rod’s secrets.

Alex Rodriguez was the best tipper in the Yankees clubhouse

Per an exclusive interview with the New York Post, the former Yankees batboy revealed that Alex Rodriguez wanted to be the leader in the Yankees clubhouse. Even while tipping to the batboy, A-Rod would make sure he was the best tipper. He would pay the batboy $100 every week.

While sharing this incident, Castillo revealed how a $350 million worth ballplayer indirectly asked to pay his $200 bills. Since A-Rod always tipped Castilla, he owed him to pay this bill. But here is the most interesting part. When A-Rod came out of the bar, he walked out with two blond girls while being married.

“One cool evening we were in Boston and I saw him coming out of the Whiskey Park Bar, near the Public Garden…,” the Yankees batboy said. “A-Rod was on his way out, with two blondes on his arms. When he saw me, his eyes lit up, and he said, “Wow, look at you! I never saw you in a suit.” 

He left his bills in Castilla’s breast pocket.

“As he passed he reached into the breast pocket of my jacket, and I thought he was rearranging my pocket square. “Have a good night,” he said, breezing by with his lovebirds. At any rate, when I got to the bar I happened to look down into my breast pocket and was surprised to find two hundred-dollar bills,” Castilla added.
