Shohei Ohtani changed the mechanics of his swing to get out of his batting slump

There are few players as focused and thorough with their training as Shohei Ohtani. Although he was going through a batting slump lately, he recently overcame it. After his most recent game in which he hit 2 home runs, he revealed that there was an issue with his mechanics. He was not gripping the bat properly. Sam Blum of The Athletic shared this update via Twitter as Ohtani revealed his secret.

In a Tweet, Blum said, “Shohei Ohtani said after the game today that when he goes through slumps, he often notices various mechanical flaws causing the issues. His recent slump, he said, had to do with the height of where he was gripping the bat. Seems like he got that fixed.”
