It is not a secret that Derek Jeter has a bi-racial background. But when he dated Mariah, she was not aware of this. In her book ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey,’ the ace pop star revealed how she reacted when she accidentally found out about Jeter’s race.

Although Mariah was already in love with the Yankees star, she found him more attractive after knowing that Jeter has a bi-racial background.

“As if on cue, another person from the Armani team chimed in; “Derek, your mother’s Irish and your dad’s Black, right? Like, so what do you think about all this?” All of a sudden, it was like the moment in The Wizard of Oz when the screen went from black-and-white to Technicolor…,” Mariah wrote in her book.

However, it is a pity that their relationship lasted only a year. Currently, Jeter is a father of three daughters with his model wife, Hannah Jeter.
