Streets of Toronto’s Downtown are filled with white and blue as the Jays will be playing in the WS after a 32-year wait. The optimism is riding so high that even diplomats are getting in on the action. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney couldn’t help but tell Donald Trump how excited he was by the Blue Jays’ progress to the finals.

They won the ALCS in a thrilling Game 7 against the Seattle Mariners, 4–3. The Jays went into that winner-takes-all game with the series tied at 3–3, but they were behind their opponents at the start. Seattle was ahead 3–1 in the Game and had the momentum going. And then came George Springer’s three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning, which changed everything. That swing gave Toronto the win and punched their ticket to the Finale against the Dodgers.

Now that Game 1 is all set to start on Friday night, the city, including its Prime Minister, is hopeful of seeing the October Glory. In the recent interview, when asked about the game, he said, “It’s fantastic. I mean, Springer coming through on one knee — it was an absolutely amazing game.”

He also reminded the media of his earlier words from his Oval Office meeting with Donald Trump, which went viral on TikTok. In that he was saying, “We’re coming down for the World Series, Mr President.” That’s not it, he shared his favorite memory, too.

When asked what he remembers about the last time the Blue Jays won it all, Mark Carney’s response was immediate and heartfelt. “Just the elation of a similar home run,” he said. He was talking about Joe Carter’s legendary walk-off home run on October 23, 1993, when Carter hit a three-run homer off Philadelphia Phillies closer Mitch Williams in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Blue Jays were trailing 6-5 with one out when Carter’s blast over the left field fence gave Toronto an 8-6 victory and their second consecutive World Series championship. It remains only the second time in baseball history that a World Series ended with a walk-off home run.

Now, the Blue Jays have a chance to reclaim that glory. But standing in their way are the defending champion, a team trying to become the first back-to-back World Series winners in 25 years. The Dodgers look unstoppable after sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS, with superstar Shohei Ohtani powering them to victory with three home runs and ten strikeouts in a legendary Game 4 performance.

Game 1 begins Friday night at Rogers Center, where the ghosts of 1993 will be watching. For a nation that’s waited more than three decades for this moment, the series promises to deliver the kind of drama that only October baseball can provide. And the fans are echoing the same sentiment!

Toronto turns electric as fans believe ‘This is the year!’

While the Mark Carnet celebrates in diplomatic halls, the real believers are out on the streets that the Blue Jays will win. The echoes of ‘Go Jays Go’ are not limited to Rogers Stadium; they’re all over the city.

Fans outside Rogers Center couldn’t keep back their feelings. One person yelled, “That was the craziest game I’ve seen in my life.” They were still shaking from Springer’s seventh-inning home run. Another person, who said he drove 11 hours from Quebec City only to see the game, smiled and added, “Our players are way too good. Too smart. Springer did it on one knee—get this guy a Canadian passport! ” The audience cheered alongside him, and their chants echoed through downtown Toronto.

And the good vibes don’t stop there. When asked about playing the Dodgers, a fan said with confidence, “They’re not ready for what the Blue Jays have. The Dodgers are cooked.” Others agreed, claiming they’ve already beaten big teams like the Yankees, so why be afraid of Shohei Ohtani or Mookie Betts? “It’s baseball playoffs. Anything can happen.” That mix of humility and belief defines this Toronto run.

The emotion is just as strong inside the clubhouse as it is outside. “This means a lot. We’ve worked so hard for this, ” Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said. “Thanks to the fans who bring the energy. We do this for you guys .” His sentiments reflect what the city is feeling!

From Mark Carney to players and the fans, everyone is excited! These 4 Games will tell whether the Blue Jays clinch the ring. Or Toronto has to wait!
