This would spell disaster for both sides as they have a lot invested in the deal. For Correa, this is likely the best deal on the market right now. If it falls through he may not get another long-term offer. On the other hand, the Mets will lose the chance to add a star like Correa to their already-loaded roster. Fans recently thought that the deal was about to go through but that appears to be far from the case.
Which teams will go for Correa if the Mets deal falls through?
According to Clutch Points, the Atlanta Braves and the Minnesota Twins might try to sign Correa if the Mets deal fails. For the Braves it’s a simple way to replace the star shortstop that they lost in Dansby Swanson.
