The number of batters getting hit by pitches has increased by a lot this season. Last night, Mets’ Jeff McNeil, who wears jersey number 1, got hit by a pitch. After which, he threw the bat away and walked. But, it was the manager, Buck Showalter, who could not handle himself with what happened there and got enraged.

Why did Buck Showalter get angry on an HBP?

Last night’s hit-by-pitch of the utility player, Jeff McNeil, marked the New York Mets’ 100th hit-by-pitch of this season. Undeniably, it had made the team’s manager angry. As this was not a record that the Mets would want to be anywhere near with.

The combined total of HBP hits of the top 5 Mets players is over 80. Jeff’s hit last night was his tenth, and he is also in the top 5 players at the fifth position tying with the shortstop, Francisco Lindor.
