It’s been months since the two times World Series champ, Justin Verlander, signed a contract with the New York Mets, leaving the Houston Astros behind. It seems like the Astros fans, however, are having trouble letting go of one of the best pitchers ever to step foot on the mound. When the Mets ace wished his supermodel wife a Happy Mother’s Day, Verlander’s fans became nostalgic about his time with the Astros. 

Yesterday, when the whole world celebrated the person who gave birth to them, Verlander also did the same. However, while doing so, he did not forget to wish the same to the mother of his child, Kate Upton. But little did the 3x Cy Young Award winner know that simply a wish to his wife would, in turn, work as a trigger for the Astros fans.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Verlander posted two pictures to wish his wife a Happy Mother’s Day. In one of the pictures, the couple looked all ready to slay at an event, whereas, in the second one, Upton could be seen carrying their girl, Genevieve Verlander, while dressed up in a Mets jersey.

Verlander captioned the pictures, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there… but especially my amazing wife. 😍 Vivi and I are so lucky to have you. I love you @kateupton!”

However, it wasn’t even minutes before Verlander uploaded the pictures, and the couple’s fans started commenting. Seems like watching Upton in a Mets jersey had worked as a trigger for the fans, who became nostalgic about wanting Verlander back with the Mets. 

Astros fans wrote on Verlander’s post for Upton, “They look better in ASTROS gear 😢”, “The only thing would make this day better would be you on the astros”, “You could’ve used one of the million Astro pics you have of Kate & daughter, but okay 😢 HMD @kateupton”, and “Astros fans miss you, JV.”

Meanwhile, others said that Verlander did a great job at finding the perfect partner for him. Hence, they wrote, “JV winning life”, and “Bro is really one of the best pitchers of all time and pulled Kate Upton, he’s really the 🐐.”
