Millionaire Alex Rodriguez Dubs Staggering Deal With “12 Times” Reward as His Best Ever Business Decision

Baseball legend Alex Rodriguez has remained ecstatic about his business ventures. When A-Rod took the first step in his journey, while still a teenager at 18, he felt as if he was on top of the world. Now, Rodriguez has turned into a full-time businessman having retired from the sport. The former player’s efforts have borne good fruit as his investment firm, A-Rod Corp, which he started back in the 90s, is now worth over a billion dollars. 

Alex has invested in countless ventures under the banner of A-Rod Corp. Notably, the shortstop is also the co-owner of the NBA side, Minnesota Timberwolves. Rodriguez recently spoke of the best investment he made in his decades of experience as a venture capitalist.

Owing to his abilities as a businessman and having learned from some of the best, Alex Rodriguez also is a speaker at many events and podcasts as well. In one of the episodes of The Twenty Minute Venture Capitalist, Rodriguez shed light on some of his investments.

There, among other things, A-Rod spoke of the best investment that his firm A-Rod Corp has made. Talking about that investment, A-Rod said, “We bought a third of a business called Petros Pace, and it was a lending brokerage business that was ESG and green. It would lend to real estate owners, and it was a great substitute to mezzanine debt. So, in a world where in mezzanine debt, you pay mid-teens (%), you were paying for Petros PACE about 5 or 6 percent. It’s half the price of mezz debt and it’s green and makes the world a better place. I really liked it. I loved the two founders. We backed them, and then this year, we sold it to Apollo for almost 12 times.” 

Completely turning around a business for even a couple of percent is considered a good enough investment. But turning a venture around to gain a profit of 12% is a tremendous achievement. Considering Alex’s achievement as a multimillionaire and making his company worth over a billion dollars, A-Rod surely has established ground in the business world.
