Minnesota Twins Fans Celebrate a “League Breaking” Acquisition Just Days After Carlos Correa’s $200 Million Move

The MLB off-season has been filled with twists and turns at every corner. But the Minnesota twins are the beneficiaries of one of the most dramatic free agencies in recent history. The Twins picked up Carlos Correa on a 6-year $200 million deal. This was after the superstar shortstop saw two other deals collapse. 

The Twins saw an opportunity to bring back a player who was fantastic for them in 2022 and they pounced. But the Minnesota-based team is not done making moves. They have reportedly agreed to a trade that will get them a World Series-winning center-fielder.

The Minnesota Twins have been making some good sneaky moves this off-season, and they just made one more. The Twins are reportedly bringing in Michael A. Taylor through a trade with the Kansas City Royals. Jeff Passan reported the news via a tweet to the delight of many Twins fans. Taylor is fantastic defensively and took home a Gold Glove award in 2021. He also played a part in the Washington Nationals winning the World Series in 2019.

In the tweet, Passan said, “The Minnesota Twins are acquiring centerfielder Michael A. Taylor in a trade with the Kansas City Royals, sources tell me and @kileymcd”. It will be interesting to see how Taylor fits into the Twins’ plans.

But fans seem extremely excited by the deal overall. Some lauded Taylor for his defensive ability while others called him a Nationals legend. 

The Twins are making moves in hopes of a postseason berth in 2023. Furthermore, the team was able to bring back a major difference maker in Carlos Correa. Signing Correa to a 6-year $200 million deal was a huge move for them. It will probably be a huge factor in their upcoming 2023 season. But there were some people who questioned the deal.

Is the Correa deal a good one for the Twins?

The Minnesota Twins swept in and signed Carlos Correa to a 6-year $200 million deal. According to MLB.com’s Do-Hyoung Park, it “represents the largest free-agent commitment in Twins history, both by years and dollars.” The deal is a fantastic one for the Twins as they sign a player who contributed heavily to the team in 2022.

They have brought back a leader and proven winner in Correa. Furthermore, many fans were unhappy to see him go and will now be happy that their star is back. The Minnesota Twins have made a lot of really good creative moves this off-season and Correa is one of them.
