The thoughts that went behind choosing the perfect gift for her were as pure as it gets. The duo had started dating each other when they rekindled their friendship in 2017. A couple of months before the third baseman proposed to her, the actress had celebrated her 50th birthday.
Therefore, as a caring and affectionate boyfriend, Rodriguez gave the actress a limited edition red Porsche with a meaningful reason behind it. Additionally, he became her driver.
Why did Alex Rodriguez have to become a driver for his girlfriend?
The reason behind Alex giving the red Porsche as a birthday gift was that the actress and her daughter, Emme, used to sing the song ‘limitless’ on her show while wearing red dresses. And that’s why the gifted Porsche got named ‘limitless’ as well.
“I thought a matching Red Porsche would be the perfect gift on her birthday. So, she loved it. The problem is Jennifer hasn’t driven in 25 years, and Porsche is a car you actually drive. You don’t get driven in. So I said, ‘Hey, I’ll be the driver’ to her car, so that was it,” said the former baseball player in an interview with GQ.
The athlete really wanted to give his girlfriend the red Porsche, and so he did. But there came a problem with it as well. He saw the problem, and he had to come up with a solution as well. Therefore, he offered and did become a driver for wherever the actress wanted to go.
Where are Rodriguez and Jennifer now?
After dating for two years, Alex proposed to Jennifer in September 2019. But after two years of their engagement, they officially called it quits in April 2021.
