New York Yankee fans are fed up, and not just from all the losing. Right now, the fans are looking for answers, and a lot of their fingers are pointing straight towards Aaron Boone.

And honestly, who can blame them? Because not long ago, the New York Yankees were sitting comfortably at 45-32 and leading the AL East. And look at them now. They have dropped eight of their last 11 games, and the Toronto Blue Jays just took their spot right under them. It’s been rough, to say the very least.

So naturally, Boone is being made the scapegoat in everything. Fans are coming for his neck and questioning his every move. But mostly calling him a softie! Especially after Jazz Chisholm Jr. revealed that post-sweep with the Mets, Boone’s message to the team was, “We’re the best team in the league.” That comment just enraged the fanbase. However, now everyone thinks it’s all on Boone.

For Rosenthal, the real issue isn’t Boone’s tone; it’s just that the New York Yankees are not playing clean and sharp baseball. That’s been a problem dating back to last year and even beyond that. However, some of Boone’s statements have been scrutinized by fans. Fans were not thrilled after Boone defended Luke Weaver after a loss to the Mets. “Luke is not afraid; he likes action. Sometimes it’s just three pitches that cost you the game,” a comment by Boone was tone-deaf to many.

Now, for sure, Boone is not perfect, but he also led the Yanks to the playoffs six out of seven years since 2019. That said, New York is brutal, and losses don’t sit well under those bright lights. But if Boone is not the one fingers should be pointed at, who is? There is another name in the mix.

So the million-dollar question is, if not Boone, then who? The spotlight might belong to Brian Cashman, at least to some. The longtime general manager is now feeling the heat. On SNY, during an exchange, Dexter Henry asked if it was time to move on from Boone. But Hector Beauchamp directed the blame. “Yankees fans have been saying that since the 2021 Wild Card Game. As much as Boone frustrates me… he’s not the reason we don’t have a major league third baseman.”

This frustration hit its peak when the Yankees signed Jeimer Candelario. He is hitting .114 after being cut out by the Reds. Beauchamp, pointing it out, said, “That’s not Boone’s fault. It’s Brian Cashman’s fault.” He pointed right to the front office and their gamble on Nolan Arenado, who they thought would come affordably. Sadly, he didn’t, and now the third base looks like a black hole.

The Yankees now didn’t have a bad week, but rather a bad month. The Red Sox, the Jays, everyone has rolled through. Ouch! Even Aaron Judge, who is a one-man crew, suffered, given his average dropped from .392 to .364. Now, Cashman has been calling the shots for 15 years. And since then, they have not won one World Series, though they hope to. They have gone to the finals just this last year.
