With both of his brothers already making it to MLB, Andrew knew that the bar was high. This pushed him to work hard, and the hard work surely paid off this year—a $3.7 million signing for the Miami Marlins! The Marlins saw the potential and athleticism and signed him as their international signing. Being regarded as the most talented of the Salas brothers, Andrew’s competitive spirit and deep understanding of the game were the qualities that made him a perfect fit for the Marlins’ system.

“He’s somebody that eats, sleeps, breathes baseball and was just kind of built-in that way,” Marlins director of international scouting David Hernandez Beayne said. For the Marlins, it’s not just a mere international signing, it is a strategic move that will surely pay off for years to come.

Andrew Salas takes the baton

Andrew Salas, the youngest of the Salas brothers, is quickly making a name for himself, but in a unique way. While his older brothers, Ethan and Jose, are for power-hitters, Andrew offers a different style. Known for his exceptional contact-hitting ability, Andrew prioritizes bat-to-ball skills over raw power, which has earned him a rare 65-grade hit tool that is even higher than his brother Ethan. By the time he was 16, he had already established himself as one of the top international prospects in the 2025 class. From his early days, being familiar with the best pitching in the world made his offensive game strong.

As one of the top prospects in the 2025 class, Andrew will likely begin his career in the minor league. Over the next few seasons, he will work with the Marlins and hone his skills. He’ll likely start in the lower levels, such as the Dominican Summer League (DSL) or Florida Complex League (FCL). His journey will reflect the unique combination of the Salas family’s baseball DNA and his ability to carve out his own path.
