Alex Rodriguez is taking a walk down memory lane, specifically in his high school years. The world knows the former Yankee as one of the baseball greats, but little does anyone know about his interest in another sport. Multi-sport players are not uncommon to see these days because some people just have that natural athletic talent. And given A-Rod’s storied career, it’s not a stretch to imagine he could throw around a 15 oz ball with ease.

Rodriguez joined the Seattle Mariners right out of high school with one of the biggest contracts at the time, at $1.3 million for three years, including a $1 million signing bonus. A big fan of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, the ex-shortstop was headed to the University of Miami to play football. But then he decided to focus on baseball and never looked back, except maybe now.
