Among one of the most popular players during the twenty seasons in MLB, Jeter dated several high-profile women. Stating that he wouldn’t have been able to handle a baseball career and family life at the same time, the former shortstop only settled down after he retired. The kind of person who would dedicate his full attention to whatever he put his mind to, the 48-year-old, took the conventional path to matrimony.

Amid tabloid speculation, Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis got married in 2016 after almost three years of dating. The couple had a beautiful ceremony in Napa Valley, California. But before tying the knot came the proposal, for which the former shortstop went back to basics. According to Page Six, Jeter asked Davis’ dad for his permission to marry his daughter, to which Mr. Davis obviously said yes.

“Our source said he’d even asked Davis’ parents ‘for permission’ for her hand in marriage, ‘a few months ago,'” Ian Mohr of Page Six reported.

Where is the Jeter family now?

Fast forward to 2023, the young Jeter couple lives with their three daughters – Bella, River, and Story, aged five, four, and one respectively. After hanging up his uniform in 2014, Captain Clutch became a family man, with his sole focus on his girls. Jeter is still involved in the sports world but in a more behind-the-scenes role now.

His popularity may have reduced after retirement, but it was not really a significant amount.
