A brief note of the longer format

For the first time since 1915, the Championship round will begin on a Friday. If the series gets tied at 3-3 for both teams each and the extra seventh game is required to decide the winner, they will host the game on November 5. Previously, on two occasions, the World Series has gone as late as November 4. The first instance happened in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. That mishap caused a one-week delay at the end of the regular season. The next such instance was in 2009 when the games got contested with the summer fading off.
