The Boston Red Sox are cooking up something big. The rumors are strong that they’re going aggressive this time, and the way everything’s progressing, it seems to be true! They, for example, reportedly had a three-hour-long meeting with one of the brightest stars of baseball—Juan Soto in California. The 26-year-old slugger has had a stellar season with none other than their rivals, the Yankees. Soto finished with 41 homers and is now the center of attention in the off-season.

If they manage to get him, can you picture that left-handed swing at Fenway’s Green Monster? Well, the Sox sure can, as Alex Cora and Sam Kennedy are apparently doing everything to woo the Dominican free agent into the team.

If Juan Soto does join the Red Sox, it’d be a massive upgrade for them. The team is already loaded with left-handers like Rafael Devers and Masataka Yoshida. If you think that’s already many lefties, Boston knows that Soto, alone, can be ‘a difference maker’. Meanwhile, Red Sox all-star outfielder and left-handed hitter Jarren Duran is far from jealous, with a prospect as huge as Soto coming in!

Jarren Duran is all in for Juan Soto in Fenway!

Jarren Duran expressed that he’s excited about the possibility of Juan Soto coming into the team. When asked if Soto would fit in the lineup, Jarren Duran mentioned, “I think he’d hit pretty good. He’d abuse that monster in left field, like he has against us a couple of times, so, that’d be fun to see.” And according to the left-heavy lineup, Duran brushed them, saying it’s all about adjusting.

“It is baseball. At the end of the day, we are athletes and we can adjust to the lefties. Yeah, if you can hit, you can hit, but that’s not my territory, it’s the front office.” Well, not just him, but also a Red Sox legend is supporting Soto coming to Fenway!

David Ortiz, who is a legend of the Red Sox, recently came out to urge the team to bring Juan Soto in. “If there is a guy, I would like to build a team around, it would have to be Juan Soto. Juan Soto speaks Spanish, and he speaks English so he can communicate with both American and Latin players,” said David Ortiz.

The meeting in California with Soto and the Red Sox officials reportedly lasted 3 hours, during which the team showcased the rich history of Dominican players they had. And they didn’t discuss money matters allegedly! Strategy or not, that’s something you can decide, but we know for sure that Soto will not get swayed just by emotions.

Right now, some of the bigger teams, like the Mets, Yankees, and Blue Jays, are ready to shell out upwards of $600 million. So whether the Boston Red Sox can match up is all that matters.

Alex Cora hints at the Red Sox’s big plans

Alex Cora, jetlagged after his return to Boston after spending the weekend in Southern California, where they reportedly had a long meet with Juan Soto. Though Cora kept things under wraps, he didn’t shy away from dropping some hints. While speaking at the Boston College for Latin American Business Club event, where his daughter is a member, he acknowledged Soto. “People seem to love Juan Soto and his shuffle,” said Cora with a smirk, a nod to Boston’s interest in signing the off-season superstar.

Later, Alex Cora also mentioned that while he can’t say whether he went to the meeting or not, having patience is crucial right now. Meanwhile, while Juan Soto is a hot topic for the Red Sox, someone with whom they would start spending more, the team did make an early off-season move. They signed the 37-year-old Justin Wilson with a one-year deal.

However, the real question now remains—can the Boston front office capitalize on everyone’s expectations and bring Soto to Fenway? The clock is ticking! Let us know what you think!
