From the various reasons fans already have to applaud their star 35-year-old, this time, it was more heartfelt, and more stirring than ever before.

While his outing may have not gone as expected, nothing could take away the respect Kershaw had gathered over the years and the mere fact that he chose to start despite losing his mother.

After the defeat against the Twins, Kershaw expressed his disappointment on how he couldn’t get it right and thanked everyone for all the well-wishes that poured in over the weekend. He said, “It’s been humbling to see how many people have reached out, and [I’m] thankful for that. She was a great lady. Just thank you to everybody that’s reached out. It’s really nice.”

Fans only had words of praise and respect for the champion. This is how fans reacted:

All things considered, it wasn’t a usual game for Kershaw, who never settled into the mound, and the Dodger veteran’s uncharacteristic lack of precision, particularly evident in his four-seam fastball, became apparent in a short span of time. All in all, he could only throw four innings, conceding seven hits and two runs.

Moreover, it was his first loss at home in nearly 2 years.
