Mike Trout Reveals His Picks for a Mount Rushmore of MLB Outfielders, Puts Himself Among Aaron Judge and Couple Others ‘In the League Now’

Mike Trout is one of the most famous players in baseball globally, with his popularity exceeding the sporting realm. He rose to prominence due to his brutally strong hitting skills. Trout can smash gigantic home runs with utmost ease and is additionally an agile fielder. 

Mike Trout is an outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels. Marking his MLB debut with the Angels in 2011, he has won many accolades. He is a three-time American League MVP Award recipient. Trout is notably a 10-time All-Star player and two-time All-Star game MVP.

Trout goes by the nickname ‘Millville Meteor’ because of his swiftness on the field. His muscular prowess-filled attack and acrobatic defensive skills make him a treasured asset.

Recently, Trout got asked about his choice for the Mount Rushmore of MLB outfielders. In a light-hearted take on the question, Trout picked four contemporary figures with a twist.

Mike Trout selects himself for a monumental pick 

Mike Trout won the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year and the Fielding Bible Award in his second season. Those honors are markers of his elite-class fielding tactics. His acrobatic on-field skills are renowned across the baseball community. Although Trout’s career has remained injury-ridden, he puts his body on the line for his team whenever he plays.

Mount Rushmore is an American National Memorial Heritage site. Engulfed in history, the region is prestigiously famous for the face sculpts of four iconic American Presidents. So when Trout got asked for his picks of the Mount Rushmore of MLB outfielders, he chose himself first. He later followed up with three more active players, namely, Aaron Judge, Mookie Betts, and Bryce Harper

 

Talkin’ Baseball network posted footage of Trout’s interview on their Twitter account. Speaking in the interview, Trout said, “I’m gonna go with like guys that are in the league now. It’s gonna be like me, I gotta be on there for sure. Yeah, I gotta go Judge. I’m gonna go Mookie, and go Harper.”

Judge is an outfielder for the New York Yankees. He has received the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Fielding Bible Award once each. Betts is the right fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has the most superior defensive record of all four players, with five Golden Glove Awards and four Fielding Bible Awards. He is also a two-time Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award recipient. Meanwhile, Harper is the critically acclaimed right fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies. 

Trout’s journey in the ongoing season 

The injury-prone Trout has had yet another season cut out by fitness issues. But he has left his mark, nonetheless. He smashed home runs in seven consecutive games. However, he fell just one consecutive game home run short of a record. Unfortunately, the Angels got disqualified for further progress and so Trout will soon wrap up too.
