The Los Angeles Dodgers, one of the greatest icons, Mookie Betts, recently appeared for an Interview with Fox Sports to express his inner thoughts beyond the boundaries of the MLB. Being one of the most promising athletes of the Dodgers troop, Betts shed light on his transition from athletic stature to individualism. During the interview, the 31-year-old icon reveals his intention of becoming a “legend,” as he said, “But then just a drive within myself just to be great. I want to be great. When I’m done, I want you to remember not necessarily just the baseball player but Mookie. I want to be a legend in the game.” After identifying his family as his source of motivation, he expresses his inner zeal to become a ‘legend’ to exemplify his contribution to the field.

Although it was pretty unusual for a major leaguer to publicize their inner thoughts, as well as their internal planning like Betts, following the 2019 revolutionary campaign with the motto of freedom of expression. Moreover, it becomes a common factor for the icons to reveal their thoughts. However, there are still a few players who open their hearts out. But similar to the field, Betts became exceptional in this case as he not only revealed his long-term goal but also emphasized humanity over anything else.

The legendary athlete has been depicting unique abilities throughout his time with the Dodgers, paving the way for them to claim the World Series title in the shortened 2020 season. However, while stepping out of the athletic stature during the interview, he emphasized humanity, stating, “I’m a normal person just like everyone else…”
