Star Wars Day is finally here and the entire galaxy is celebrating the day with Wookiee roars and lightsabres. Amid these moments, the Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman, Mookie Betts, has dropped a major bomb that seems to blast off in the sky like the incoming blaster bolts ringing in our ears. And this time, it’s a funny take on one of his teammates. Guessed the name?
We are talking about Enrique Hernandez. Mookie Betts had a hilarious conversation just before the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves game at Truist Park on Sunday began. When asked about whether he was a Star Wars fan, the response was, “No, I’ve never watched Star Wars.”
Well, that was a hilarious response from his side. Additionally, on “May the 4th”, the Dodgers shortstop was put to the test by being shown images of a number of characters, including Emperor Palpatine, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and even Gollum from the Lord of the Rings. Failing at the clutch moments, he showed off his “elite” knowledge, making one choice correctly that became a laughter riot. When Betts was shown a picture of Ahsoka Tano, a popular Star Wars’ character played by Rosario Dawson, he didn’t take any time, saying, “Ok so that’s Kike.”

Betts soon had the opportunity to see an image of Enrique Hernandez dressed as Ahsoka Tano. However, Betts didn’t go wrong in every step, as he was able to recognize Darth Vader, another character from the Star Wars franchise.
The Dodgers lost to the Atlanta Braves, so even though the encounter with Mookie Betts was enjoyable, it was not long-lasting. Betts managed to go 0-for-3, made a walk and scored only one run. Enrique Hernandez was just as disappointing because, in his three plate appearances, he failed to hit anything. The only players who tried to do their best for the team were Max Muncy, who made two runs and Miguel Rojas, who managed to hit a home run.
Amidst all these, Mookie Betts’ form is a concern for the Dodgers, although he has made some changes in his approach.

Mookie Betts opens up on the changes he made to improve himself
Despite the Los Angeles Dodgers riding high on success, Mookie Betts has been cold this season. With a .261 batting average, a .350 OBP, and a .787 OPS, the 32-year-old star, has only hit five home runs and 21 RBIs. But, let’s not forget that he is gradually coming out of the early struggles and has shown good signs in the last five games.

Mookie Betts has managed to hit a home run in the series opener when facing the Atlanta Braves and his average has also increased significantly. Talking about how he came out of the shackles, Betts said during an interview with Ken Rosenthal, “The main thing for me is to have fun. I was putting too much pressure on myself. I really just need to trust my preparation and enjoy the games.”
He missed a few games because of stomach problems at the start of the season; however, he is back now and has been playing as the starting shortstop. With the Dodgers going to play against the Miami Marlins at the LoanDepot Park, Betts will hope to do his best for the team, winning games and also improving himself continuously.
