If you ask the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ star Mookie Betts, he will tell you: “Being a credentialed photographer is the best post-game career.” 

During an interview with Bleacher Report, Mookie Betts shared his sarcastic stance on Ken Griffey Jr.’s career as a Credentialed Photographer in 2025. The thing is, it’s unusual to imagine an MLB Hall of Famer capturing pictures at The Masters. And when it specifically comes to Griffey Jr., Betts believes it’s even more interesting.

As soon as the subject was Griffey Jr.’s photography career, Betts passionately expressed, “Griffey walking in the masters. I mean, there’s probably nowhere he can walk without getting stopped. And then he’s going and taking pictures, and it’s like wow, that’s super dope.” To that, even the interviewer agreed that’s a great post-game career. He was fully on board that Griffey Jr. is doing a great job and enjoying life.

Further, Betts couldn’t hold back, but he took a hilarious dig at Griffey Jr. that will amuse you: “You know what, I think that was his way, so he didn’t have to pay to get in there. That was his way, I’m watching.” Betts sarcastically mentioned that Griffey Jr.’s choice of this career was just a move to get into The Masters without paying.

And guess what? Betts also sees himself doing so, “That would be my way to get in without paying. I’m just like, hey, I work here.” Imagine if Betts really decides to do so years down the line. We might see him at Augusta National, capturing hearts and pictures all at once.

After leaving an impressive record in the baseball world, Griffey Jr. is now enjoying his new path with his new camera. And well, now even Mookie Betts knows how to enter The Masters without paying. He just needs to find his footing in photography. For now, he can take lessons from Griffey Jr.

Griffey Jr. recently shot a beautiful moment of Jordan Spieth with his daughter Sophie. This shot was taken at a family-centered event, held around a major golf tournament. Sounds beautiful? Well, it looks beautiful. When this heartwarming shot was captured, all players were present with their kids. And Griffey captured many spectacular shots.

But Griffey Jr. didn’t randomly decide one day to take a shot at photography. He retired from MLB in 2010, and he didn’t want to be idle. Rather, Griffey Jr. wanted to build a second career from scratch. You might not know, but he also captured the MLB’s Tokyo Series in Japan this time.
