Jose Altuve was among the Astros’ stars participating in meet-and-greet events with the fans. Sporting Goods store Academy Sports + Outdoors announced the hosting of the events at their outlets. Altuve met his fans at the Pasadena Academy outlet from 7:00 P.M. on Thursday. A fan named Lisa Valverde who recently had her final cancer treatment, waited 36 hours in line to meet Altuve.??

Sports director Mark Berman posted the news on his Twitter account quoting, “Jose Altuve says he ?was a little emotional? when he heard about Liza Valverde, who had her last cancer treatment yesterday & instead of waiting to ring the bell (tradition) she raced to the Academy in Pasadena to be 1st in line to meet Jose & get his autograph 36 hours later.”?

Whereas, Fox Sports network posted the news on their official Twitter account quoting, “Liza Valverde, a fan who had just completed her final cancer treatment, went straight to wait in line for Jose Altuve’s autograph. After 36 hours, she finally got to meet him.”?
