Even at 47, the former Yankee is a bachelor. But dating back to the time, when A-Rod was in the last years of his baseball career, he dated a billionaire. Yes! Even though this relationship did not last long, A-Rod and renowned entrepreneur, Anne Wojcicki, who co-founded 23andMe, were in a relationship for a while.

Back in his playing days, A-Rod was a dream guy for every woman, especially those who wanted to one-up their exes. Anne dated A-Rod because of his athletic stardom. She never attended a baseball game, though.

Was Alex Rodriguez just a rebound for his ex-girlfriend, Anne Wojcicki?

Per Mercury News, Alex Rodriguez and Anne Wojcicki dated for a year and called their relationship off in late 2016. Wojcicki herself admitted that she dated A-Rod because of his Athletic stardom. Notably, the two belonged to completely different backgrounds. She was a billionaire entrepreneur while A-Rod was an athlete.

In 2017, Wojcicki revealed an awkward interaction with her mom when she told her about A-Rod. Her mom could not digest the fact that A-Rod can be a person’s name. 

“My mom was like, ‘What’s an A-Rod?’ I was like, ‘Mom, that’s his name,” said Anne Wojcicki.

Notably, before her relationship with A-Rod, Wojcicki was married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin for eight years. And in her own words, Wojcicki dated A-Rod only because she wanted to one-up her ex. 

While discussing their relationship, Anne’s mother, Esther Wojcicki, said that A-Rod and Anne were a mismatch in the relationship. However, she also admitted that A-Rod genuinely loved her daughter.

“He seemed to be genuinely in love with Anne,” Esther Wojcicki told the Times. “But I right away figured out this was a mismatch.”
