The Texas Rangers have flipped the page. This season, the team has had unexpected success that led them to their long-desired dream- The World Series. As the Rangers are going forward to the World Series dream, they are pointing out a major wrong decision of the Yankees that probably caused the team?s historic failure in 2023. The expensive Yankees pitcher failed pathetically this season, while two former pitchers of the team proved their worth in leading the Rangers to the World Series after decades.

Do The Yankees Regret Their $162M Deal?

The Yankees season was a disaster. They closed their season even before the October campaign started. While their offense was not great, the team drastically failed in their defense. Most of their pitchers, including Carlos Rodon, failed miserably.?

The Bronx Bombers signed a six-year, $162 million contract with Rodon in 2022, but he performed below expectations throughout the entire season with a 1.45 WHIP and 64.1 IP. Surprisingly, two of their ex-pitchers, Jordan Montgomery and Nathan Eovaldi, have been doing great since joining the Rangers.?

While on the Yankees, none of the pitchers played well, now, they have been leading their current team towards the first World Series Championship after 2011 and defeated one of the strongest favorites of the season, the Houston Astros, in the ALCS. As Eovaldi has been playing impressively with a .96 WHIP and 26.0 IP, Montgomery did a great job in ALCS Game 1 by wrapping up the opponent with 6 1/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. The former will probably lead the team in the World Series Game 1, beginning on October 27.?

However, fans have been regretting the decision to let go of the two former pitchers. With them, the Yankees season could have been different this year.

However, Bruce Bochy is hoping for the best for this team this postseason.

Growing up in a family where sports was a topic of daily discussion, baseball drew my interest the most. I admired the post-retirement journey of Alex Rodriguez and the rise of Shohei Ohtani and Elly De La Cruz to stardom in the current baseball generation. Forever enamored by Bryce Harper and the way his career is progressing, I love covering most East Coast teams. When not writing, you can always find me at the library, buried between the pages of a book. “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so,” from Shakespeare’s Hamlet is a favorite for me. When not surrounded by words, I’m usually in the battlefields of COD and Fortnite!
