It’s been days since the NBA franchise, Minnesota Timberwolves, got kicked out of the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets. After this major loss, Timberwolves’ co-owner, multimillionaire Alex Rodriguez, took some time off of his busy schedule to relieve himself of the stress and came back energized and in the arena to see which team would take the championship home this year.

Last night, in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the Miami Heat clashed against the New York Knicks. Notably, Miami won. But present in the audience were Timberwolves’ co-owner Alex Rodriguez with his other A-Rod and other celebrities, which was another highlight of the game.

Who did Alex Rodriguez see the game with?

Even though A-Rod’s team might have had to step out from the playoffs, nothing can keep him away from the sport. Hence, not only did Alex go to the Knicks v/s Heat game, but he also posted a picture with his friend on his Instagram story. A-Rod brought with him his friend and the co-host of the podcast, Kay-Rod Cast, Michael Kay.

However, these two weren’t alone in the audience. NFL legend Aaron Rodgers was also present in the arena. Alex posted a snippet of the game in his Instagram story, where the Heats stole the win from the Knicks at their home arena, Madison Square Garden. 

When did A-Rod buy the Timberwolves, and why?

As a former baseball player, A-Rod’s first choice to buy a sports team was of baseball, the New York Mets. However, since he and his group of investors could not compete with the billionaire Steve Cohen’s bid of $2.4 billion, the deal could not go through

Therefore, Alex had to drop the idea, but only for a little while. He might not have been able to buy an MLB team, but he found a spot open to buy the NBA franchise Timberwolves and WNBA Minnesota Lynx. Then, he got the group of investors ready and eventually bought the Timberwolves and Lynx in 2021.
