Although Jordan tried his best to hide his emotions, the NBA G.O.A.T. failed to do so when he watched his friend being celebrated. While talking about Jeter’s decorated career, Jordan heaped some huge praise on the Yankees legend.
“I totally admire him,” Jordan said. “Being in a city like New York where one little hiccup basically could fry him… He did it in a way where no one could criticize him. And he’s done his job for 20 years… Knowing the expectations of others, he’s done it the right way in this era… He’s made the right decisions.”
It is no secret that despite playing different sports, Jeter and Jordan were close friends. And when Jordan watched Jeter in the middle of the ballpark, he couldn’t hold his tears for a moment. It was quite a special moment for Jeter as well as Jordan.
