It has been over five months since the Russian Federal Customs Service detained Phoenix Mercury star, Brittney Griner. And the situation is getting more complicated with each passing day. Even now, the Russian Government is in no position to allow Griner to leave for her country.

When almost every American athlete is lauding their voice to release the WNBA star, there is a new twist in the story. Yes! Former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling has given a new direction to the whole scenario. Not only did he criticize Brittney Griner for violating the rule, but he also bashed the NBA star, LeBron James, for supporting the American basketball player.

Notably, LeBron James took an indirect dig at the United States Government for not bringing the WNBA star home. And after realizing his mistake, James clarified he did not mean to disrespect America with his comments. The whole thing is about how the Russian officials caught Griner with cannabis vape cartridges at the Moscow airport.

Taking to Twitter, the former Red Sox pitcher shared his opinion on Griner’s detention in Russia. Quoting the tweet of LeBron James, Schilling criticized Brittney Griner for her actions.

“I know this may seem like a stretch. But something like 300 million people understand “OBEY THE FU**ING LAW”, why is that such a challenge? And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country’s laws?” Curt Schilling tweeted.
