NBA legend Michael Jordan is undoubtedly one of the greatest athletes in the history of the entire sports world. Throughout his entire career, he has won countless number of accolades to his name. Because of this, every athlete from almost every sport draws inspiration from the six-time NBA champ. Jordan had some unique tactics in order to win, and sometimes they included trash-talking to get into the minds of his opponents. Needless to say, he got successful at it as well. Like him, MLB’s Barry Bonds is also known as a legend of the game, but a tainted one.
However, former baseball player of the San Francisco Giants, the seven times all-star player Billy Wagner recently admitted that he talked about a unique quality of his friend Barry Bonds that put him in the same league as NBA legend Michael Jordan.

What did the former baseball player say about Barry Bonds and Michael Jordan?
There were many on the diamond that hated dissing each other to win. But Wagner did not agree with it. Granted, he was good friends with Bonds and understood the point of his view as well. Taking inspiration from MJ or coming up with it on his own, controversial MLB legend Barry Bonds did the same thing to get the edge in winning the games. He got successful at it as well. But not many players liked what he did to win. Recently, in an interview with Pitching Ninja, he talked about how it was facing Bonds in the ballpark. He also talked about the trash talk surrounding him, which gave him the adjective cocky.
While answering if getting into their opponent’s head is what players would want, Wagner said, “It’s not personal. I like that ribbing. It was more like bragging right thing. If somebody was chirping at me, and then you read the story of Michael Jordan finding ways to get himself up to dominate somebody. There was nothing better than having that discussion and somebody talking like that.”
It’s a proven fact that dominating somebody via trash-talking or any other way does eventually help in winning. Bonds and Jordan are two such examples of it.
