“This Is a Huge Joke”- Despite His Heroics, Fans Target Aaron Judge After Pipping Shohei Ohtani and Stephen Curry to a Top Honor

With the year almost about to end, the New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has been awarded yet another accolade. The experienced outfielder started the year by betting on himself to hit 50 homers this season. And he is now ending the year by not only accomplishing his bet but also proving his worth. Thanks to his remarkable season, Judge outshined NBA star Stephen Curry and fellow MLB star Shohei Ohtani and bagged another award. However, this did not sit right with fans.

Recently, All Rise won the AP Male Athlete of the Year Award, and instead of congratulating the Yankees star, some fans went on to bash him for winning it ahead of Ohtani and Curry.

Did Aaron Judge not deserve to win the prestigious award ahead of Ohtani and Curry?

Winning over the two-way star Shohei Ohtani and four-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry was not an easy feat, but Aaron Judge did it in style. He narrowly cut to beat out last year’s winner, Ohtani, and the Warrior’s Curry to get the votes of 40 sportswriters and editors around the country.

“Undeserving” and “other players are better than him” are just two of the comments that the sports fans said about the title wrongfully given to the Yankees captain.

Notably, apart from Judge, Ohtani and Curry also had a remarkable season this year. On one hand, Curry led the Warriors to their 6th championship, while on the other hand, Ohtani also had his best season in MLB. Though the Angels phenom failed to win anything big for his team.

Judge’s year at a glance:

The historic season for the New York Yankees captain came after turning down a big deal. He went on to hit 62 home runs, becoming the AL MVP of the Yankees after Alex Rodriguez in 2007, Judge also signed a $360 million contract. And ultimately, he also became the 16th captain of the franchise.
