Gary Sanchez is a former catcher for the New York Yankees, with whom he played from 2015-2021. He burst on the MLB scene as a promising talent, even winning Rookie of the Month in his debut season. After a brief stint with the Minnesota Twins, Sanchez played Triple A for the San Francisco Giants. However, after the 2020 season, the catcher has struggled with putting up numbers.

Opting out of his Giants contract to become a free agent on May 2nd, Sanchez is now joing the New York Mets on another Minor League contract. While the current plan is a Triple A assignment, the Mets are reportedly hoping to bring him up to the big leagues soon.
