The Mets do not have one hero for their team, but they have different heroes for different games. Sometimes it is Max Scherzer with hitless pitches, and sometimes Dominic Smith and Jeff McNeil with their standout performances from the plate.

The Mets have played seven series this season and have not lost a single series. With 16 wins out of 23 games, the Mets are donning the National League East. Recently, after their series victory against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Mets registered their seventh consecutive series win. They are the first team to do so in the 2022 MLB season.

New York Mets surpass their own record of consecutive series win

The Mets have become one of the most consistent teams of this season. Even without their starting pitcher Jacob deGrom, the Mets have been rock solid from the mound. On Sunday, the Mets played the third and final game of the series against the Phillies.

With both teams winning each game, the Mets had to win this game to win the series, and they did it in style. Dominic Smith and Jeff McNeil were phenomenal from the plate. Both had a four-hit game against the Phillies. Max Scherzer also had a wonderful outing on the mound. Scherzer struck out the first five batters of the Phillies.

With this all-around performance, the Mets won the game 10-6 against the Phillies and also sealed their seventh consecutive series. Taking to Twitter, NBA star Donovan Mitchell also reacted to the Mets’ remarkable run. Mitchell tweeted, “7 straight”.

There is another reason behind the Mets’ successful run this season. They have been one of the most disciplined sides in MLB in 2022. With just seven errors in 22 games, the Mets have the fewest errors in the National League and third-fewest among all ML teams.

Given their remarkable run so far, it should not be a surprise if they end up winning a couple of trophies this season.
