It has been a disastrous season for the second-highest spenders in the league, the New York Yankees. They seem to be in an elevator that is falling with them no control over it. And even after all their efforts, the team has failed to find the best output and is lagging behind in the AL East. The Aaron Judge-led side with a strong squad lacks many things that are still unavailable, even after all the searches.
Because of it, they have reached a new low since 1995 and are now trying to overcome it with a spirited public response. In the same vein, Judge shared a message of hope to get the fans on the team’s side. Now, following in his captain’s footsteps, Anthony Volpe did the same. But he failed to get any solid backing from fans.

The Yankees are in bad shape at the moment, to say the least. Though the situation still seemed under control once, six losses on the trot pushed the Yanks into adversity. They are no longer in the picture of the wild card spot, and it doesn’t look like that would change in the future. But it seems players are not yet giving up. Anthony Volpe took up the microphone to spread this message with his response to the question of what the team is lacking. Yankees beat writer Gary Phillips shared his answer on Twitter.
Anthony Volpe, responding to a similar question about what the #Yankees are missing, noted, "Probably just energy and fun and enjoying the game and enjoying playing with each other. It's like the chicken or the egg. What's gonna cause [the other] to change?"

It read,” If I could tell you, I’d hope we could turn it around. But probably just energy and fun and enjoying the game and enjoying playing with each other. It’s like the chicken or the egg. What’s gonna cause [the other] to change? But at the end of the day, everyone’s working. All hands are on deck. Everyone’s grinding. We all want to turn it around more than anyone else in the world.”

The response from Volpe was very truthful and positive, but fans are still unhappy. Moreover, they have failed to acknowledge Volpe’s takes and called it very premature.
The Yankees Fanbase Can’t Come to an Agreement With Volpe
Anthony Volpe’s comment came when the Pinstripes were at their worst. They are struggling, and with another loss against the arch-rivals the Boston Red Sox, they are in danger of slipping further down.

The kid doesn’t know any better. They haven’t turned him into a PC robot yet. He said ENERGY and ENJOYING PLAYING WITH EACHOTHER is MISSING. There’s no player leader in that clubhouse to rally the troops. And the manger is a cuck. Blow the whole clubhouse up https://t.co/12NEGoRJsT

What a damning response. It sounds like nobody cares about the issues on the field within the older players that are supposed to be setting the tone.
This roster needs to be blown up https://t.co/WdEu4vri2n

This is such a damning response on the entire clubhouse, man. It just tells you they're not even trying to motivate each other so they can play well. https://t.co/dyWmgLEK6d
