Just after the postseason, Aaron Judge will be out of contract and given he is an instrumental part of the Yankees organization, the Pinstripes management would want to keep their marquee by their side.

Despite that, Nestor backed Judge to become the next Yankees captain after Jeter. In Nestor’s own words, apart from being an excellent ballplayer, Judge is an even better human being.

“If he is back here next year, he is our captain. He is the next captain. We follow everything he does. He leads by example. He is not really a guy that comes out and screams at anybody…,” Nestor said of Aaron Judge.
