New York Yankees Manager Aaron Boone Reveals How He Used His Ejection to Teach His Daughter a Valuable Lesson

Baseball managers are responsible for many important decisions on the field. During a 162-game regular season, there are times when they get ejected. It could be for arguing with the umpires or other reasons as well. This includes New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone. Most recently, Boone revealed an aspect of his latest ejection that his daughter enjoyed and a lesson he taught her.

The Yankees’ manager has experienced some good form with his team recently. Boone has guided them from a terrible start to some great form at the moment. He did so with the help of Aaron Judge and other in-form stars. But he has been ejected during this run of positive results.

The Yankees are on a roll at the moment. They beat the Toronto Blue Jays in a crucial series and have continued that great form. But Aaron Boone has been ejected three times thus far this season. He revealed that his daughter liked the gum toss after his latest ejection.

Boone used it as a teaching moment and told his daughter not to repeat his actions but to listen to his words. The Bronx Bombers’ manager shared this story during an interview with Talkin’ Yanks.

During the interview, Boone said, “Usually, my family doesn’t say much about my ejections. It’s just kind of not spoken about really. But my daughter, she texted me that she liked my gum toss or something. And, I had to tell her to do as I say, not as I do.” 

This was a teaching moment for the Yankees’ manager as he used his mistake as an example. Boone has been very good with his management as the Bombers continue to turn their season around. But it will be tough for fans to forget his most recent ejection.

Boone was ejected in the first inning against the Cincinnati Reds

Aaron Boone was ejected during the Yankees’ last game against the Cincinnati Reds. He argued with the umpires over an overturned call that led to the Reds getting an early run. This resulted in his ejection in the first inning.

Furthermore, certain sources are even saying that Boone is the first manager to get ejected before noon.
