The baseball community and the New York Yankees supporters, in particular, froze over in expectation of an Aaron Judge record. Finally, the historic home run made its way into Wednesday’s game. Judge breathed a sigh of relief. Just so did his fans and family, too.

Aaron Judge made his MLB debut for the New York Yankees in 2016. In his second season, he won the American League Rookie of the Year Award. He has already amassed 200+ career total home runs. Judge is a four-time All-Star player and is in search of his first World Series glory.

Judge has been the most dominant batter in the ongoing season in all categories. But most importantly, he has been rewriting baseball history in terms of home runs. He is now in the league with all-time greats of the sport. Last week, Judge tied Babe Ruth, and most recently, he tied Roger Maris in seasonal highest home run tally. 

Judge’s mother saw it coming 

Aaron Judge is now the joint highest American League home run scorer. Every single home run from his bat next will be a new addition to history. But he has had to battle through many hardships to reach the peak he is presently standing upon. From slump in form to sharp defensive tactics by opponents, Judge has withstood them all.

Judge has triumphed like a champion this year. He began the tournament in fiery form and took the Yankees to the top of zonal rankings. Amidst inconsistencies, he continued to display breathtaking performances. The opposition pitchers kept intentionally walking him over.

But Judge found a way to reign over as he slammed his historic home run against the Toronto Blue Jays. His mother, Patty, who was in the stands, reportedly said she predicted it. Journalist Meredith Marakovits later posted on Twitter stating, “Patty Judge told me she called the HR in the 7th before Judge stepped to the plate. Pretty cool.”

Whereas, the New York Yankees’ official Twitter account posted a quote from American League MVP frontrunner Judge stating, “She’s been with me through it all.”
