LaTroy Hawkins played for 21 years in the big leagues. He began his career as a starting pitcher before making the transition to relief pitching. Hawkins recently took the job to be the United States 18U National team pitching coach. This is a huge move for Hawkins as he looks to groom the nation’s great pitching prospects. NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes took to Twitter to congratulate Hawkins on the appointment. 

In a Tweet, he said, “Congrats! 💪🏽💪🏽 @LaTroyHawkins32”, while also sharing the post announcing Hawkins’ appointment. The former MLB star will bring a lot of experience and knowledge as a 21-year veteran. Furthermore, he will be able to mentor the United States’ bright talents and help them grow.
