New York—the Mecca of Baseball—is nearing to witness the series everybody has been waiting for: the Subway Series 2025. With both the Mets and Yankees at their prime, it will be an intense crosstown matchup. At the core of this showdown is the man who had a brief love affair with the New York Yankees, and now he is returning as a Met. Yes, it’s Juan Soto. It’s easy to predict that the Soto reception is going to be wild. However, amid the buzz, an NFL legend has called out the Yankees’ nation for something that will stun you.

Beginning on Friday, May 16th, this three-game series at Yankee Stadium is a lot more than just a cross-town rivalry. Juan Soto is about to return to the Bronx wearing a Mets uniform as he will go against his former teammates. Interestingly, while the countdown is on for this fierce showdown, a major revelation was made by WFAN’s Keith McPherson on Foul Territory. Keith revealed that on his radio station, NFL legend Tiki Barber has made a stunning plea to the Yankees’ nation.

Barber reportedly urged the Yankees fans to “turn their backs to Juan Soto” as an act of protest as he takes the right field. Well, that might actually happen if you think it out loud. Just recently, when Soto had a rough start with the Mets, he found himself topping the headlines for regretting his exit from the Yankees. Funny how it all loops back now as he gears up to enter the Bronx again. But this time as a Met and as it seems, he might go harsh against the Yankees to prove that he belongs in Queens.

The icy gesture suggested by Tiki Barber would definitely load the drama in Yankee stadium. Guess what? Keith himself will be booing Juan Soto. In fact, he can’t wait till the next Friday. Keith further drew a vivid picture of how mad it’s going to be.

McPherson stated, “Shoutout to Mark, who leads the roll call. He’s going to need some backup; he’s going to need help because this is going to be a raucous environment.” That’s a given; it will be nothing short of electric. Keith also recalled the 2021 weekend series and mentioned that it was the best baseball environment he had been in during that whole season.

He concluded, saying, “It’s going to be insane. It’s going to be a legit movie. Fast forward me to next Friday.” Only if that were really possible, the entire baseball community would like to wake up directly on Friday and get teleported to Yankee stadium.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Juan Soto silence Yankee Stadium with his bat, or will the boos drown him out?

Juan Soto picks his form before facing off the Yankees for the Subway Series

Ahead of the upcoming Friday matchup, if there’s something the entire baseball world is betting on, it’s simply Juan Soto and his strong return. Soto was the hot topic just recently for his rough start with the New York Mets. Well, the higher the contract value, the higher the expectations.

It was so bad that he only had three home runs throughout April with a .241 batting average. However, Soto has finally been meeting the expectations, as May brought a much-needed boost for him. It’s just been a few days into this month and he is already sitting with a .346 batting average with a 1.339 OPS.

Against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Soto slammed two soaring home runs in the finale of the series. He found his rhythm during the sixth inning and contributed to the Mets’ 7-1 win. In fact, there was another game against the Diamondbacks in the beginning of May when Soto hit two home runs.

Yes, against the same team with the same fierce bat in the same month. He crushed the D-backs hard time and again in just a matter of days. So, even if the Yankees’ nation turns their backs against Soto in this subway series, he will still be locked in and his hot bat will say it all.
